  1. Keep your software up-to-date

Like if you are using windows so Microsoft routinely updates their software’s for better user quality which can easily erase the bugs that a hacker uses for some reasons. So, the first Tip is to monitor the updates on daily basis. It is a very good and simple approach to save your pc from malware.

  1. Don’t Click on links

It is a good approach to stay away from the links that are usually shown on your email accounts or somewhere else. It’s not me who is saying, its Microsoft report that identified that less than 50% of windows viruses infect computers because of the users who clicked on something they even don’t know about.

  1. Use Free antivirus

There are a lot of paid antiviruses which could be available. But most of the people always have a gut feeling about free antiviruses. IF you are a windows user they have a Microsoft Essential which is totally free for the customers. Avast is also a good option as it is a free antivirus.

  1. Backup your computer

It is necessary for you to keep your important data into a backup. It is now a common thing that hackers continuously attacks on person important data’s or sometimes the hard disk it self crashes. The good trick to protect your data is to save it on a portable hard drive or you can also use a google drive that can save 5GB data on their cloud in simple on their server.

  1. Use a Strong password

Strong password is one that can be very hard for the hackers to break. Password like 123456 and 123456789 is a bad choice and is not recommended. Password like city_manchester would be a good option because if you add alphanumerical password to your windows or somewhere else it will give you a positive point for protecting yourself.

  1. Use a firewall

If you have any antivirus software running on your pc it does not mean that you have a firewall activated. Windows and mac have built-in firewalls but you have to check if it’s activated or not.

 

  1. Use a pop-up blocker

Pop-up ad is something that can easily affects your computer security. There are different extensions or software’s provided for the users to stop the pop-up.
