Smartphone only comes with a basic clipboard function, you will be able to copy a message and paste it on another application, you can do it only once at a time.
As soon as you copy a text, the previous one gets replaced, if you are a Gboard user, you will be glad to know that it comes with a native clipboard function.
The best thing is that its clipboard feature can save multiple messages so you can easily access your clipboard history and paste it on an app.
How to Use the Gboard Clipboard Function
On your Android Smartphone, simply open any application that allows you to write a message then click on the editing field to bring up the Gboard app.
Here you will need to click on the Clipboard icon in the top row, if the clipboard icon is not there then you will need to click on the three dots in the top corner,
This will automatically reveal additional tools, simply click on the Clipboard icon when you see it on your screen.
Suppose if your clipboard is off then you will absolutely need to click on the toggle button near the top to activate it.
Here you will be able to find your messages history on the clipboard, Gboard saves all messages typed in the last hour and don’t provide an option to change the duration. Click on the message to paste to the editing field.
The reason everyone likes Gboard is you will be able to pin a particular message to the clipboard to prevent it from being overwritten.
You will need to press and hold down on the message for a few seconds and click on the pin icon when it displays on your mobile screen.
If you are going to delete a message from the clipboard, simply select it and click on the Trash icon near the top of the page.

In case if you are going to add a brand new message to the clipboard, you can click on the Pen icon near the top, a plus sign (+) will display automatically.
You will need to click on the plus sign to create a brand new message, if you don’t want the clipboard to store your messages, you can simply turn off the function by toggling the button at the top on your screen.
