How to Disable Sticky Keys on Your Windows System

Anyone who has no idea about Sticky keys, they are easy to access a feature that windows provide for individuals who have trouble while using keyboard shortcuts simply by pressing two keys at one time. Sometime you may wish to disable Sticky Keys from your Windows computer, Here is how you can disable Sticky Keys.

How to Disable Sticky Keys Using Control Panel

Number 1: First, You will need to open your “Control Panel”.

Number 2: Simply click on the “Ease of Access”.

Number 3: If you are in Ease of Access window click on the “Change How your Keyboard Works” option.

Number 4: Here I will recommend you to un-tick the box next to “Turn on Sticky Keys”.

How to Disable Sticky Keys using Windows 10 Settings

Number 1: First, You will need to open the windows “Settings”.

Number 2: If you are in the Settings window simply click on the “Ease of Access”.

Number 3: In Ease of Access page scroll down and click on the “Keyboard” on the left side of the window.

Number 4: Here click on the toggle switch under “Use Sticky Keys”.

If you are going to avoid launching Sticky Keys by touching Shift five times, I will recommend you to make sure you un-tick the box next to “Allow the shortcut key to start sticky keys”.

If you have trouble with pressing two keys at the same time, you will be able to use the same settings to enable Sticky Keys.

  • To show the Sticky Keys icon on the taskbar.
  • To lock the modifier key when pressed twice in a row. This option keeps the key active until you press the same key for the third time.
  • Enable the turning off of Sticky Keys when you press two keys at the same time instead of reentering settings to turn it off
  • Play a sound when you press and release a modifier key.
